**Italy to Send New Military Aid Package to Ukraine**
Ukraine will get a new military aid package from Italy, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said on January 16. He met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in Kyiv.
The aid package is already on its way to Ukraine, according to Umerov. It includes modern weaponry that will help Ukrainian soldiers attack the enemy.
Umerov and Crosetto agreed to strengthen defense cooperation between Ukraine and Italy. They plan to launch joint ventures and other initiatives to support the Ukrainian defense industry.
**Security Guarantees for Ukraine**
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto also met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. They discussed security guarantees for Ukraine.
Italy has sent 10 military aid packages to Ukraine before, including advanced weapons systems like air defense units.
**Russia’s Invasion Continues**
Russia attacked Ukraine using cruise and ballistic missiles on January 15, targeting critical infrastructure in several regions.
The Ukrainian army reported that Russian troops were repelled near the village of Zhuravka in Sumy Oblast. A Russian experimental reconnaissance drone was also shot down by anti-aircraft gunners.
**International Support for Ukraine**
Other countries are sending aid to Ukraine as well. The United Kingdom will provide new military aid, including artillery barrels and a mobile air defense system.
The International Register of Damage for Ukraine has started accepting applications from families who lost loved ones due to Russia’s invasion.
