**Education Ministry Announces Salary Cuts for Striking Employees**
The Ministry of Education in Serbia has sent a memo to school directors, stating that employees participating in the ongoing strike will have their January salaries reduced.
This decision was made after many teachers, educators, and parents asked about work obligations during the strike. The ministry wants to remind employees that they must follow the law when organizing strikes.
The memo says that employees who don‘t do enough work or don’t organize the strike correctly won’t get their full salary. A group of education workers is on strike in support of student protests and to express dissatisfaction with a new salary agreement between unions and the government.
On Friday, students are holding a general strike, called “a day of civil disobedience,” across Serbia. The strikes are part of a larger protest against the government’s policies.
