Meetings Begin in Strasbourg
Giorgi Vashadze, leader of “Strategy Aghmashenebeli,” is meeting with representatives from European countries. He wants to make sure everyone knows about the situation in Georgia.
Vashadze said: “The only solution is to free all political prisoners and hold new elections soon.” He also mentioned the beatings and bad treatment some people have received at the hands of the current government, called ‘Georgian Dream.’
New Elections Are Needed
The opposition leaders from Georgia are meeting with delegations from many countries. They want to show that democracy is needed in Georgia. Vashadze said: “We will talk about the only solution: releasing all political prisoners and holding new elections soon.”
This is important for Georgia because it can move closer to Europe if they follow democratic rules.
