Members of four Georgian opposition parties met with a high-ranking official from the Council of Europe. They wanted to talk about a journalist named Mzia Amaglobeli.
Mzia Amaglobeli is in jail because she slapped a police officer. She was arrested and put into pre-trial detention as a way to prevent her from causing trouble again. This happened on August 10th.
The opposition party members met with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. They wanted him to know about Mzia Amaglobeli’s situation. One of them, Zurab Japaridze, shared this information on social media.
Zurab Japaridze wrote that the official was interested in hearing more about Mzia Amaglobeli’s case. He promised to do everything he could to help her today.
