**Georgian People Win Major Victory**
Tina Bokuchava, chair of the United National Movement, said that today is a big day for Georgia. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has adopted a resolution calling for new elections, the release of political prisoners, and punishment for those responsible.
**What Does It Mean?**
For over 60 days, people have been standing on Rustaveli Avenue demanding change. Now, PACE agrees with them. The resolution says that the only way to end the current crisis is through free and fair elections, releasing all political prisoners, and holding accountable those who committed violence.
**What Are the Main Demands?**
1. **New Elections**: PACE wants new parliamentary elections to be held soon. These elections must be conducted by independent institutions.
2. **Release of Political Prisoners**: All people unfairly imprisoned will be released.
3. **Punishment for Perpetrators**: Those responsible for violence and other crimes will face punishment.
**What’s Next?**
Bokuchava says that this victory is only the beginning. To make sure justice is served, free and fair new elections must take place. The current authorities cannot be allowed to conduct these elections; they must be run by independent institutions.
