**Slovak Diplomat Hands Over EU Role**
A Slovak diplomat is leaving his job as the European Union‘s Special Representative for talks between Serbia and Kosovo. Miroslav Lajcak has been in this role for over four years.
Lajcak said it was a “challenging, yet rewarding mission”. He is proud of what was achieved with the Ohrid Agreement. This agreement brought together Kosovo and Serbia to talk about their differences.
The European Union wants the new representative to help normalize relations between Serbia and Kosovo. The two countries need to work together better, especially when it comes to implementing an agreement they made in 2023.
