**Hungary‘s Prime Minister Avoids Question on Russia**
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban refused to say if he considers Russia an aggressive country. He told Swiss media that only historians should make this judgment.
Orban is known for being close friends with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He has often criticized aid for Ukraine, saying it makes the war worse and longer.
**No Threat from Russia**
Despite Russia’s demands to NATO in 2021, Orban said he doesn’t believe Russia sees Hungary as a threat. He claimed that Russia’s concerns are about long-range weapons, not Hungary itself.
Orban even joked that it’s hard to imagine Hungarians invading Moscow. This was during an interview with Swiss media Neue Zurcher Zeitung.
**Peace Talks Needed**
Orban once again called for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Without them, he said Ukraine risks becoming the “Afghanistan of the European Union“.
This comes at a time when Hungary’s relations with the EU are strained. The country is not receiving 1.04 billion euros in aid due to failing to meet democratic standards.
