**Ukraine’s Energy Under Attack Again**
Russia launched an air strike against Ukraine’s power grid on February 11. This forced the country‘s energy operator to impose emergency power outages, said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
The attack targeted gas infrastructure overnight and continued into the morning. It has put a lot of pressure on Ukraine’s already strained energy grid.
**Emergency Measures Taken**
Halushchenko said that Russian forces launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea, triggering air alerts in Kyiv and several other areas. This caused further disruptions to Ukraine’s energy supply.
The production facilities of Naftogaz Group in Poltava Oblast were damaged. Despite this, the company is continuing to operate and supply gas to consumers.
**Repeated Attacks on Energy Infrastructure**
Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since its full-scale invasion began. The goal is to disrupt power supplies and weaken civilian morale.
Ukrainian authorities have been working to repair and reinforce the grid ahead of expected renewed attacks.
