Serbia’s Corruption Ranking Falls
Serbia has dropped one place on the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2024. The country is now ranked 105th out of 180 countries.
The CPI scores range from 0 to 100, with 100 being a complete absence of corruption and 0 meaning total corruption. Serbia scored 35 points, showing that the country still has a significant problem with corruption.
Since 2016, Serbia’s ranking on the CPI has been getting worse. The country’s score was 42 at that time, but it has been sliding downhill ever since. Transparency International is concerned about this trend and wants to see improvements in how the government handles public funds and prevents corruption in the public sector.
