**Ukraine Denies Participation in Talks with US and Russia**
A Ukrainian official has denied that the country will participate in talks between the US and Russia on February 14. This changes what was previously reported.
Dmytro Lytvyn, an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, said there are no plans for Ukraine to meet with Russian officials in Munich. He added that Ukraine must first talk to America and that Europe should be part of any serious conversation about peace.
**US President Trump Made Earlier Claims**
Earlier on February 13, US President Donald Trump claimed that the US would hold talks with Russia and Ukraine during the Munich Security Conference on February 14. He said high-level people from all three countries would attend.
However, no further details were provided about the expected meeting. It is not clear if the US still plans to hold talks with Russia on February 14.
**Trump’s Comments Spark Confusion**
Despite the Ukrainian denial, Trump made similar comments again during a news conference later that day. He said Ukraine and Russia would participate in a joint meeting, despite the fact that Ukraine had already denied this.
This comes after Trump held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 12. The two leaders agreed to start negotiations to end the war in Ukraine “immediately”.
**Security Conference Planned**
The Munich Security Conference is scheduled to take place between February 14 and 16. US Vice President JD Vance is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky during this conference.
Other US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, will also attend the conference.
