Mamuka Mdinaradze, a leader of the Georgian parliamentary majority, made some strong statements in Parliament recently. He said that media representatives and NGOs are doing a good job telling the government which laws to change.
Mdinaradze claimed that these groups show the government every day how to fight against actions that are not good for Georgia. But then they call this approach “repression”. He also mentioned something called the “deep state” – a group he believes is working secretly to harm Georgian interests.
The media representatives and NGOs have been protesting, holding rallies with puppets of important people like Bidzina Ivanishvili. Mdinaradze called these protests a waste of money, saying millions of dollars are being spent on them.
He also mentioned that some protesters were showing pictures and videos of children taking part in what he called “sectarian rituals”. He said this was not good for the country or its people.
