**Ukraine‘s Long War: From Euphoria to Despair**
Three years have passed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the world is still struggling to wake up from this nightmare. As Ukrainians, we’ve gone through several stages in our relationship with reality.
At first, we were in complete denial – it seemed impossible that a war was happening in the 21st century. We thought that if we just showed the world what was happening through photos and social media, people would wake up and something would be done. But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, reality set in.
**The Cost of Silence**
Today, Ukraine is facing a war that has brought destruction to our cities, towns, and villages. Children’s oncology hospitals have been bombed, power stations destroyed during winter, and civilians frozen to death. And yet, no one has been held accountable for these atrocities.
We are on the brink of starting to live in a world where war criminals are free to roam, spreading their propaganda and hatred. A world where people are beheaded or bludgeoned to death with sledgehammers. This is not just Ukraine’s problem – it’s everyone’s problem.
**The World’s Shame**
The West sympathized with us, helped us, but refused to acknowledge the truth: this war was against them too. It wasn’t until Donald Trump openly spoke about occupying Greenland and made it clear that Europe is no longer under America’s security umbrella that Europeans finally realized the danger they faced.
The unpunished evil of Putin’s aggression has shattered the world order and erased all rules. The International Criminal Court, which issued an arrest warrant for Putin, now faces sanctions from what was once the leading democratic nation in the world.
**A Message to You**
Forgive us if our message is not to your liking after four years of war. We are glad that you’re finally beginning to realize the truth: this war is against all of you – including those who live in Europe and beyond. The criminal does not even bother to hide his bloodstained teeth.
We’ve clenched our teeth long ago and done what needed to be done to survive this Titanic. Now, it’s your turn to make a choice: will you search for a lifeboat together with us – or will you continue to sink helplessly beneath the waves?
