Giorgi Amilakhvari, the former Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, has announced his plans to return to the private sector after leaving his post. He made this announcement during a briefing, where he stated that he had requested the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, and other team leaders to allow him to step back after four years of continuous public service.
Amilakhvari joined the parliamentary team of ‘Georgian Dream’ in 2020 and has since dedicated himself to serving the country and advancing Georgian education, both in Parliament and as Minister. After four years of hard work, he asked for the opportunity to return to the private sector and continue supporting the team from there.
He highlighted his successful background in the education business before entering politics and expressed pride in the achievements made during his time in office. He also thanked Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, his team, and Bidzina Ivanishvili for their trust and support throughout his service.
Amilakhvari was appointed as Minister of Education, Science, and Youth on March 20, 2023, replacing Mikheil Chkhenkeli, and had been serving in this role until his resignation.
