**European States Fail to Condemn Elections in Occupied Abkhazia**
Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, is concerned about the lack of condemnation from European states over elections held in occupied Abkhazia. He made these comments at a recent meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
**”Farcical Elections”**
Samkharadze spoke out against the so-called presidential elections held in the Russian-occupied region of Abkhazia last week. Two polling stations were also opened in Moscow and Cherkasy, which he described as a clear violation of international law.
**Violation of Sovereignty**
The Georgian official emphasized that until the restoration of Georgian jurisdiction over occupied territories, all actions taken by de facto authorities are considered null and void. He stressed that this is another attempt to violate Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
**Concern Over European Response**
Samkharadze expressed alarm that most European states failed to condemn these elections. He believes this reflects a broader failure of international organizations to address the issue of occupation in Georgian territories within the context of European security.
