**Russian Attacks on Ukraine Claim at Least 8 Lives**
Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine overnight, February 26-27. According to regional authorities, at least eight civilians were killed and 18 injured.
**Multiple Oblasts Targeted**
The attacks targeted several Ukrainian oblasts (regions). In Donetsk Oblast, seven civilians were killed and 11 injured. The city of Kostiantynivka was hit particularly hard, with at least six people killed and 10 injured. Dozens of high-rise buildings, shops, and enterprises were damaged.
**Other Regions Affected**
In Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a 70-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman were injured in a Russian strike. An industrial enterprise and several houses were also damaged. In Kherson Oblast, one civilian was killed and two injured. Two apartment buildings and several houses were damaged.
**Ukraine’s Defense Against Russia**
Russia is actively pushing on the Novopavlivka sector in eastern Donetsk Oblast, trying to break through Ukraine’s defense. However, Ukrainian forces are putting up a strong resistance.
**International Reaction**
The international community continues to react to Russia’s actions. North Korea has deployed additional troops to Russia, according to an official from South Korea‘s National Intelligence Agency. The United States and Russia are set to meet in Istanbul for talks on February 27.
**Ukraine’s Demands**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he will meet with US President Donald Trump. He emphasized the importance of continued US support for Ukraine.
