**Canada Imposes New Sanctions on Russia**
On March 2, Canada introduced new sanctions against 10 Russian individuals and 21 entities. These include leaders of paramilitary groups like the Wagner group and a senior Russian military official.
The sanctions were announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office after he attended a meeting with European leaders in London. The Canadian government said it is committed to working with its partners to increase economic pressure on Russia.
So far, Canada has imposed sanctions on over 3,000 individuals and entities involved in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The country remains committed to supporting Ukraine.
The meeting in London was attended by leaders from 15 countries, who discussed a way to achieve peace in Ukraine despite Russia’s war efforts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the meeting after visiting the US, where he failed to sign a natural resources deal due to a public disagreement with US President Donald Trump.
