The Georgian government has taken some actions, but has not taken others that our European partners were expecting. This is in regards to the Russian law and the lack of reform in the Council of Justice, which is hindering our progress towards the European Union and NATO. President Salome Zurabishvili addressed this issue during a press conference in Warsaw, where she was asked about Georgia‘s movement towards NATO and the current state of cooperation between the two. According to Zurabishvili, the Georgian people are wise and understand the importance of their European, independent, democratic, and peaceful future. Euro-Atlantic integration is even written in the Constitution of Georgia, and all state institutions, including the President, are working towards achieving this goal as quickly as possible. However, progress has been slow due to the lack of action on certain issues, such as the Russian law and the reform of the Council of Justice. Zurabishvili expressed hope that the people of Georgia will continue to support this goal and understand the importance of moving towards the EU and NATO. After a meeting in Warsaw, the presidents of Georgia and Poland made a joint statement to the media and answered questions from journalists.
