Today, there have been significant updates from the Kupiansk direction in Ukraine. Russian forces launched a large mechanized assault in an attempt to break through Ukrainian defenses and reach the Oskil River and the city of Kupiansk. Ukrainian troops were able to withstand the attack and inflict heavy damage on the enemy.
The Russian forces had created a tactical salient around Pishchane in recent weeks and were focused on advancing quickly. However, they faced difficulties in the fields east of Kolisnykivka and Kruhlyakivka. In response, the Russian Western Grouping of Forces organized a large mechanized assault to consolidate their positions in these areas and establish a foothold on the Oskil River.
Ukrainian drone operators conducting reconnaissance in the area reported a battalion-sized Russian mechanized assault group consisting of over 60 tanks and armored vehicles. This was the largest such assault in the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line since last winter. The group split into two columns, with one heading towards Kolisnykivka and the other towards Kruhlyakivka.
The first column was intercepted by Ukrainian drone operators, who were able to successfully hit and damage several Russian armored vehicles. This caused chaos and panic among the Russian crews, leading to a failed assault. The Ukrainian 77th Airmobile Brigade reported destroying 3 tanks and 11 other armored vehicles, as well as damaging 10 tanks and 16 armored vehicles.
The deadly response from the Ukrainian troops left no Russian equipment unscathed. The released footage showed the Russian vehicles attempting to retreat, but they were unable to escape the relentless pursuit of the Ukrainian drone operators. This successful defense by the Ukrainian troops serves as a reminder of their strength and determination in protecting their country.
