The 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade of Ukraine successfully defended against a large-scale Russian attack in Donetsk Oblast. The Russian forces attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses by deploying 19 military vehicles, including tanks. The Ukrainian paratroopers reported that near the village of Kostyantynivka on the Kurakhiv front, the enemy launched an assault with 11 armored vehicles and infantry, supported by eight tanks.
Fortunately, the Ukrainian forces were able to detect the Russian convoy and immediately launched a counterattack. They used artillery, attack drones, and drone-dropped munitions to strike the enemy’s vehicles and infantry. Thanks to their coordinated efforts and strong resistance, the Tavriya Brigade was able to destroy four tanks and two armored vehicles belonging to the Russian military.
According to the 79th Brigade, 23 enemy soldiers were killed and another 23 were wounded in the attack. The surviving Russian vehicles were forced to retreat after suffering heavy losses.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have been successfully holding their positions and repelling multiple Russian assaults on the Kurakhiv front in Donetsk Oblast. The enemy has been using a combination of armored vehicles and large numbers of infantry to attack both the Ukrainian military and civilian settlements, as reported by Militarnyi.
Despite these ongoing offensives, the Ukrainian defenders have been able to destroy a significant amount of Russian equipment in fierce battles.
