Aleksandre Tsuladze has been appointed as the new Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on October 2. Tsuladze, who was previously the Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, thanked the Prime Minister for his appointment and expressed his dedication to ensuring a better future for the country through education.
Tsuladze’s professional experience includes serving as the First Deputy Minister of Education from 2013 to 2014 and as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia from 2019 to 2023. He is also a lawyer by training and holds a Doctor of Law degree from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
Former Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari left the government on September 28 to pursue opportunities in the private sector. Tsuladze’s appointment comes after the controversial “conditional accreditation” given to Ilia State University by the Accreditation Council, which operates under the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
