**Businessmen Found Guilty of Fraud**
A court has ruled that Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, the leaders of “Strong Georgia,” are guilty of fraud. This decision was made through international arbitration.
The two businessmen were involved in a project called Anaklia Port. The government helped them with this project by postponing deadlines several times because they thought the difficulties were real. However, it later became clear that the project was just an ordinary case of fraud.
Khazaradze and Japaridze had asked for 1.5 billion lari from the Georgian people to make sure their business was profitable. They claimed this was necessary so they could cover losses. But a court found them guilty and said they should return almost 2 million lari instead.
**Comment from Parliament Chairman**
Shalva Papuashvili, the Chairman of Parliament, made a statement about this case. He said it’s no surprise that Khazaradze and Japaridze were involved in fraud, given their history of similar crimes.
Papuashvili pointed out that these two men had previously been convicted of fraud. Therefore, it’s understandable that they would behave in the same way in business and politics.
The Parliament Chairman also mentioned that this case shows how Khazaradze and Japaridze tried to avoid responsibility for their actions. However, by returning almost 2 million lari to the budget, they have effectively admitted to being fraudsters.
