Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic posted a picture of himself with a man who had been hurt. The man was wearing no uniform, but the president said he was a policeman.
The president said the man was attacked by people he called “bolsheviks”. He claimed they hit the policeman in front of the state TV building (RTS). The president wrote on Instagram that this was a serious crime and that those who did it would be punished.
He also used the opportunity to talk about recent student protests. The president said these were not peaceful demonstrations, but rather acts of violence. He promised that the country would come out of this situation unharmed.
Note: The Internal Affairs Ministry later confirmed that one police officer was indeed hurt during the protest, and he sustained an eye injury.
