NATO Secretary General Visits Western Balkans
NATO’s top leader, Mark Rutte, has completed a visit to the Western Balkans. During his trip, he emphasized that NATO remains committed to keeping the region stable.
Rutte visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he said that NATO will support the country‘s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security. He also warned against any actions that could undermine peace in the region.
In Kosovo, Rutte spoke about the need for peace between Belgrade and Pristina. He said that the solution to long-lasting peace is political, and that NATO will fully support efforts to normalize relations between the two countries. This effort is being led by the European Union.
Rutte stressed that both sides must show flexibility and make necessary compromises to move the dialogue forward. He also emphasized the importance of respecting and safeguarding the rights of all communities in the region.
