**US Opposes Frozen Conflict in Ukraine**
The US will not agree to a frozen conflict in Ukraine, said Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak on March 13. This means that the US does not want Ukraine and Russia’s war to be put on hold indefinitely.
Yermak spoke about the recent meeting between Ukrainian and US officials in Saudi Arabia. He said that the US proposed a 30-day ceasefire, which Ukraine agreed to if Russia did the same. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin wants guarantees that Ukraine will not mobilize or train troops during this time.
**Russia’s Demands**
Putin said on March 13 that Russia is ready to agree to the ceasefire, but only if Ukraine agrees not to receive military aid. Yermak rejected this proposal, saying that the US and Ukraine do not want a frozen conflict.
**More Work Ahead**
Yermak said that the meeting in Saudi Arabia was just the beginning of the peace process. He believes that more work needs to be done to resolve the conflict.
**European Involvement**
The Ukrainian and American delegations agreed that European representatives would participate in the peace process, Yermak said. This is a change from earlier statements by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, who said that Europe would not be directly involved in negotiations.
