**Students Distance Themselves from Pro-Regime Media Recording**
Pro-regime media outlets in Serbia have published audio recordings claiming to be a meeting between officials of the opposition party Movement of Free Citizens (PSG). The recordings allegedly show PSG officials planning a violent takeover of the Serbian parliament during Saturday’s student protest in Belgrade.
The pro-regime TV channels, including Pink, Informer, Studio B, Happy TV, and TV Prva, claimed that the recordings were made in PSG offices in Novi Sad. However, the PSG released a statement saying that the views expressed in the recording do not reflect their plans. They added that the recordings were secretly recorded conversations between young members of the PSG committee and activist groups.
The PSG apologized to the public for what they said were irresponsible discussions. They guaranteed that no member would do anything to violate the peaceful nature of the protest.
**Students React**
The Students in Blockade reacted to the recording by distancing themselves from anyone who wants to use their protest for political gain. A statement on their social media profile said that they are deeply disappointed and surprised by the activities of organizations claiming to advocate student interests.
“We are publicly distancing ourselves from all organizations and parties mentioned in the recording,” the statement said. “We will not allow the student struggle to be used for the interests of others.”
