Canada will hold the Group of Seven (G7) summit from June 15-17. The event will take place in Kananaskis County, Alberta.
The host country’s leader, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, recently stepped down. He was replaced by Prime Minister Justin Carney on March 14.
**Ukraine Invited**
Canada’s new prime minister had a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Mr. Carney invited him to attend the G7 summit in June.
In the past, Canada has been a strong supporter of Ukraine. The country provided over $13.5 billion in aid under Prime Minister Trudeau’s leadership. This included $3.1 billion in military support.
