The Russian minesweeper, “Aleksandr Obukhov”, has been disabled. The Ukrainian Intelligence Service informed us of this.
The ship, which was based at the city of Baltiysk, and was supposed go on combat duty, sustained severe damage because a mysterious hole was found in the gas vent. This allowed water to enter the motor: the “Obukhov”.
The Russian minesweeper has been undergoing major repairs. This could be a problem, as the M-503 engine damaged is quite a rare item of equipment. The main installation of the ship is a technically complex and expensive repair.
The Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence has reported that the “Obukhov”, is the second neutralized Russian Baltic Fleet ship in the last six-months.
