**Parliament Passes Law on Drugs**
The Georgian Parliament has approved a new law that makes it harder for people to get away with drug-related crimes. The law was supported by 83 votes.
This law changes several laws, including the Criminal Code and the Law on Organized Crime. It gives judges more power to decide what happens to people who commit crimes while under the influence of drugs.
**Tougher Penalties**
The new law increases penalties for crimes related to drugs, such as making or selling them without a license. If someone is caught doing these things, they could get fined or go to prison for longer periods of time.
Smaller amounts of certain drugs might also result in fines or short periods of imprisonment. If someone commits an administrative offense like this, they might lose their right to own a gun or drive a car for three years.
**What’s Next?**
The law now needs to be reviewed again before it can become official.
