Why? What did we do? Where did we step back? What – because we asked where the money was spent? This is a great injustice! Gia Volski, the first vice-president of the parliament, responded to the EU representative’s statement that Georgia would lose EU aid of 121 millions euros due to the decline of democracy.
Volski describes the statement of the EU representative as “politically engaged”. “This is a kind of injustice!” First, why has democracy declined? What happened, where did we go backwards? What – because we asked where the money was spent? What a disaster! Where did they get it? This attitude towards the country, its people and the world is unfair and should not be taken into consideration.
I recommend that anyone who makes such statements read the latest report of the Council of Europe about Georgia’s democracy, economy, transparency and openness. When we read a statement like this, we should also ask why. What is the reason? Where did we go backwards? What is surprising is the fact that the state took responsibility and mobilized resources to ensure that there was no lag on the field. Gia Volski.
