Ukraine’s alleged ‘dragon drones are now destroying Russian tanks

On Oct. 4, the Ukrainian released a video showing what it called a “dragon-drone” destroying a Russian vehicle.
The video, described as “truly original combat footage,” shows a Russian vehicle being stopped by what appears to have been artillery fire.
The clip shows a drone “spreading molten thermite” above the tank, before cutting to a scene of the vehicle engulfed by flames.

The Kyiv Independent was unable to verify the video.
Thermite weapons can melt some armored vehicles because they disperse thousands and thousands of tiny pieces molten metal at temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees Celsius.
On Sept. 2, videos circulated on social media showing a drone spraying what looked like white-hot, fiery metal on a treeline at an undisclosed location on the battlefield. The video does not show any troops.
Since then, other videos have been released. On Sept. 4, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry confirmed that its forces were behind the “dragon drones.”
Thermite, along with other incendiary weaponry, can cause serious injuries.
states that exposure to such munitions may cause “extensive, excruciating burns” that require painful treatment. These include “respiratory damages from inflamed lungs and toxic fumes,” “infection, extreme dehydration and organ failure.”
During Russia’s full scale invasion, Ukraine, and Russia, have heavily invested in drones, revolutionizing how wars are fought.
Drones are one of the most effective weapons for Ukrainian forces who are outnumbered. They can strike Russian warships and bases, refineries and oil refineries as well as airfields in occupied territory and behind Russia’s line.
