The streets of the city have been turned into dirt canyons, and the air is filled in many places with the stench from unrecovered corpses.
According to local health officials, Israel‘s year-long offensive against Hamas has killed over 41,000 people. A little more than half of those were women and children. It is impossible to predict when or if anything will be rebuilt, as there is no end to the war in sight and no plan for what happens next.
