** Pushes for Talks in **

The US is working on peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Mike Waltz, the US National Security Adviser, spoke with CBS News about the plans.

Waltz said that teams from both sides are already talking to each other in Saudi Arabia. This is a good start, he thinks. The topics of prisoner exchanges and who were taken by Russia will likely be discussed during these talks. Waltz believes this can help build trust between the two countries.

Prisoner exchanges have been done before. Almost 200 were exchanged after President talked to both leaders about it. Waltz hopes that the return of Ukrainian children is also possible. At least 19,500 kids have been taken by Russia since the war started.

Waltz also mentioned a recent 30-day ceasefire on infrastructure and a new proposal for a ceasefire in the Black Sea. This would allow trade to resume between Ukraine and other countries.

The situation with food security has been serious since Russia blocked some shipping routes. The issued an arrest warrant for President over the deportation of Ukrainian children.
