The festival will feature performances from the National Ballet of Ukraine and contemporary Ukrainian cinema as well as literary readings by prominent Ukrainian writers.
The Ukrainian Cultural Festival will be held in New York City from 15 to 31 October. This was announced by the Consulate General for Ukraine in the city on social media.
The festival is copresented by the nonprofit Razom for Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute, and is organized with the National Ballet of Ukraine.
The festival organizers say that during the two-week event, which will take place in October, attendees can immerse themselves in Ukrainian poetry and prose, while also enjoying some of the best contemporary Ukrainian films.
The festival will provide everyone with the opportunity to interact with acclaimed Ukrainian writers, such as Halyna Kruk, Marianna Kiyanovska Ostap Slyvynsky Yulia Iluikha Olena Styazhkina Andrii Liubka and Oleksii Abverbukh. These literary voices will provide a deeper understanding of contemporary Ukrainian literature.
The National Ballet of Ukraine will perform in the United States for the first time in over 30 year, marking the Ukrainian Cultural Festival, its first performance in the US after the dissolution of Soviet Union.
The organizers say that “These world-class dancers from the historic Kyiv Opera House will captivate you with an amazing program featuring timeless classicals, such as The Dying Swan and Don Quixote,”
Forbes Ukraine ranked Razom Ukraine 8th on its list of the Top 50 nonprofits in Ukraine for 2023. The organization provides humanitarian assistance, supports Ukraine’s Civil Society, and promotes Ukrainian Culture worldwide in the midst of Russia’s war.
Since the beginning of this all-out military assault, Razom has grown into a community of more than 222,000 supporters worldwide, delivering medical supplies to Ukrainian defenders, communication gear and evacuation transport.
