US Hopes for Peace Deal After Talks with Russia

The United States is expecting a “positive announcement” following recent talks between US and Russian delegates in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The talks were held on March 24 and focused on the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine.

A White House source told Reuters that the talks were productive and that the US expects a positive announcement soon. A joint statement will be released by both countries on March 25, after a draft was sent to them for approval.

The US delegation was led by Andrew Peek from the National Security and Michael Anton from the State Department. The Russian delegation included Grigory Karasin and Sergey Beseda.
