**Parliament Expands Mandate of Investigative Commission**
The Georgian Dream faction in parliament has decided to extend the mandate of a temporary investigative commission. The commission is looking into activities related to the National Movement, a opposition party.
According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, the decision was made after consulting with members of the commission. He said that the scope of the commission’s work should not be limited to investigating anti-state and criminal acts committed before 2012.
**New Mandate Covers Period from 2003 to Present**
The new mandate will cover a period of 20 years, from 2003 to the present. This means that the commission will also investigate actions taken by the National Movement after 2012.
Mamuka Mdinaradze said that the opposition has been involved in numerous anti-state activities since 2012. He believes that these actions require a legal assessment and response.
**Prosecutor‘s Office Also Investigating**
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia is already investigating similar issues, according to Mamuka Mdinaradze. The results of this investigation may also be used as the basis for filing a constitutional lawsuit against the National Movement.
