Oprah Winfrey chooses Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous autobiography as her next selection for her book club

, who is the host of Oprah Winfrey’s book club, has chosen Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous autobiography as her new selection. She also visited , Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough, at their estate in Memphis, .
Keough published “From Here to the Great Unknown” by Lisa Marie Presley, which she completed after Presley unexpectedly died in 2023. Winfrey will interview Keough on Tuesday at 8 pm EDT. The interview will include rare photos, videos, and audio recordings by Lisa Marie Presley.
Winfrey stated in a press release that she has a great admiration and love for Lisa Marie Presley. She was also touched that her daughter Riley was able to finish a beautiful and touching memoir which allowed to see her mom at her most vulnerable and honest. This is a look at the life of a child who was born into one of America’s biggest families.
Keough said that when Winfrey told her that she had chosen “From Here to the Great Unknown,” she thought about how proud her mother would be “to know that her story was being read and discussed with empathy, thought, and grace.”
“She would have been incredibly vulnerable but profoundly grateful to be able to reach people,” said Keough, who, along with Julia Roberts, narrated this audiobook edition.
Lisa Marie Presley is the only daughter of Elvis Presley. Elvis Presley died suddenly at Graceland in 1977, when Lisa Marie was a young girl. In preparing her book, Lisa Marie Presley recorded “story after tale” about smashing golf-carts together in the yard of Graceland. She also talked about the unconditional affection she felt from her dad, and about being upstairs with him. Random House, the publisher of her book, says that she was dragged screaming from the bathroom while running toward his body.
The singer and actress also spoke about her marriage with Michael Jackson, her struggles with addiction, and the “ever-present” grief of losing her father. In a video released before the interview on Tuesday, Keough said that she often found her mother drunk and listening to her father’s music while crying.
Lisa Marie Presley died at the age of 54 from complications following bariatric surgery. Keough is the oldest child of her four, including two children she had with actor/musician Danny Keough, and two with guitarist/producer Michael Lockwood.
