**Parliament Considers Foreign Agents Law**
The Georgian Parliament‘s Legal Issues Committee met for the final time to discuss a new law on foreign agents. This law is similar to one used in the United States.
According to lawmakers from the ruling party, this law will ensure that all activities of foreign entities in Georgia are transparent. The Anti-Corruption Bureau will be in charge of enforcing this law.
The proposed law explains what it means to be an agent of a foreign power and how they must register with the government. It also covers issues like:
* Making public any application for registration
* Requiring annual financial reports from registered entities
* Canceling registrations if necessary
* Monitoring activities to ensure compliance
If someone refuses to register or doesn’t follow these rules, they could face serious consequences, including criminal charges.
