Liga reported that Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brkelmans announced the delivery of the first F-16 fighter planes to Ukraine during a visit to Kharkiv, Ukraine, on 6 October.
This announcement comes after Ukraine received up to ten F-16s in early August. Denmark had pledged to donate 19 F-16 jets and the Netherlands 24 aircraft. Both countries are leading an international coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16s. Norway announced that it would also donate six F-16 fighter planes to Ukraine. It wasn’t immediately apparent whether Denmark or the Netherlands provided the initial batch F-16s. The loss of a F-16 in a 26 August accident appears to have grounded Ukraine’s F-16 fleet. No official reports have been released since.
