**Opposition Group Won’t Distance Itself from “Resistance Committee“**
The United National Movement (UNM) says it won’t cut ties with any group working together to defeat the government of Ivanishvili. This is according to a statement by UNM chairperson Tina Bokuchava on social media.
Bokuchava explained that the opposition doesn’t have a unified stance on important issues such as the 2008 war commission, party bans, and local self-government elections. The UNM participated in meetings organized by Salome Zurabishvili, but didn’t see much progress on forming united positions.
**UNM Will Cooperate on a Case-by-Case Basis**
Bokuchava wrote that the UNM will work with other groups on specific issues when necessary. If discussions focus on not participating in local self-government elections, releasing political prisoners, and scheduling parliamentary elections, the UNM will join in. However, Bokuchava stressed that there’s no time to waste on “illusory” and “ceremonial” formats when Ivanishvili’s government is dismantling the state.
