“I am fully responsible for the deliberate spreading of rumors about my resignation. First, I couldn’t understand why I was sent to Milan. I had come from Milan and returned in 2012 to the country. I finished my sports career and now I am in politics,” Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze told Imedi TV’s “Capital” program.
“I think my country needs more of the work that I am doing, and I say that with my teammates we are working 24/7 on all the problems that affect Tbilisi and people living in Tbilisi,” Kaladze said.
“The rumors were wrong: I won’t be leaving politics anytime soon, I will stay in it for a very long time as long as I can count on the support of my society and the people. I never leave a job in the middle; I like to finish everything I start.
“One of the components in my formula for success is that you should never be satisfied with your success. You should always strive to achieve more. Tbilisi, my city, is no different. It is not enough. I have done a lot of good things and many good projects. No matter how good we did, there are still many problems in the capital. I will work with my team to make tomorrow’s Tbilisi even better.
“It is too early to discuss the mayoral election and my participation. He said that there are seven months until the elections. “Everything has its place and time,” he said.
