According to recent statements by a Kyiv official, the follow-up to Ukraine’s July peace talks could be delayed.
The timing of Ukraine’s second peace summit is now under question. It was originally planned for November. Daria Zarivna revealed this uncertainty to the Telegraph portal in a statement.
This was after the first summit, held in Switzerland in July, in which there was no Russian participation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of the Russian Federation, had suggested that Russia could participate in the second summit.
Zarivna said that although the second peace summit won’t take place in November, all preparations must be made.
She clarified later on Telegram that the date of the summit would be decided early in November.
“I must explain.” In October, a series of conferences will be held on the themes of the peace formula. The last conference of this kind will take place on October 30 and 31,” Zarivna wrote.
The timing of the US presidential elections on 5 November is important. Bloomberg reported earlier that Ukraine wanted to hold the summit before this important vote.
In late August, Zelensky stated that the final document should be ready by November.
