Tbilisi traffic restrictions expected ahead of Independence Day

The Patrol Department of of Internal Affairs issued a statement to inform citizens that traffic in the will be restricted during the period of preparation for the events celebrating the Georgian Independence Day and the 26th of May.
From 24:00 on May 23, traffic will be restricted on Freedom Square, Rustaveli Ave, and . Traffic will also be restricted on all streets that join Rustaveli Ave.
The First Republic Square in the First Republic Square, will be closed on May 25th at 24:00.
Vehicles can move along Baratashvili, Tabukashvili, and Sanapiro Streets in the direction Merab Kostava.
Asatiani Street will be open to traffic from in the direction of Gorgasali Square. Silver Street will allow traffic to continue moving on Kote Abkhazi Street, formerly Leselidze Street, in the direction Baratashvili Street.
The slope of Baratashvili Street is also closed from the right bank. Vehicles can only move in the direction Vakhtang Gorgasali street. After crossing the and heading downhill, vehicles from Baratashvili will only be able to move on the slope near House of Justice in the direction of right bank.
Vehicles heading towards Mtatsminda can travel along Petre Melikishvili Street and Simon Janashia Street, Ivane Tarkhnishvili Street and Tamar Chovelidze Street. From there, they will continue their movement in the direction Chonkadze Street.
The next stream will be able continue its movement from Ilia Avenue, passing through Petre Melikishvili Street and Merab Kostava Street, in the direction to the river.
Patrol officers will ensure that traffic is safe and avoid delays by regulating the flow of vehicles. Inspectors on patrol will provide drivers with alternative routes if necessary.
After the event is over, on May 27, the will be removed completely and the flow of traffic will be restored.
