At a meeting of Tbilisi’s municipal government on August 26, Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that Machavariani Street will be opened both ways from the second half.
Kaladze began the session of the government with a request. He asked the population to put on a mask, stay away, and get vaccinated.
“We are at war and must win this battle.” We must win together with the support and help of each other. “Today, the battle depends on each individual, and it’s up to me, to you, to us to win the battle,” Kaladze stated.
Tbilisi Mayor announced that Machavariani Street would be opened today. Previously, due to landslide activation, and for the safety people, the movement had been stopped.
“Today in the afternoon this road will open and two-way traffic will be restored. The main part of the preventive work has been completed. We have invited German experts as well as local experts. A special working group has been established, and all decisions regarding the working process were made with the commission. The new road connecting Machavariani Street to Gelovani is currently under construction and will be completed in the near future. Another infrastructure project will also be added to the City,” said Kaladze.
