After weeks of planning, the special mission, which killed dozens of elite Russian soldiers, led to full Ukrainian control over the Vovchansk Agregate Plant.
According to Ukrinform, the commander of “Stugna”, the HUR Special Forces unit known as Linux, Kyrylo Budanov led the mission directly during the liberation at the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant.
HUR special units liberated the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant on 24 September, capturing occupants and eliminating dozens elite Russian fighters. The facility is now in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The preparation for the mission took a few weeks.
“It is no secret that Kyrylo Olesiyovych Budanov frequently participates in operations. In this operation, he was present at a crucial moment in a critical phase. He was there for several days, and he led the mission directly,” said the intelligence officer.
He said that the discrete concentration of Ukrainian assets and forces in the area of combat mission was a crucial part of the operation.
The intelligence officer said, “It was an old-fashioned special forces operation, a multi-stage, complex mission that involved significant forces, including artillery and personnel with experience in clearing similar buildings.”
According to him, a critical factor was the coordination between the “Stugna,” the “Paragon,” the “Yunger,” the RDK and BDK groups, as well as the “Terror” group from the special unit Timur that participated in the assault.
“Each group had its own specific tasks and we managed to maintain coordination between them. Linux stressed that it is important for every unit.
HUR reported earlier that Russian commanders forced soldiers to hold an hopeless defense at the Vovchansk Agregate Plant, thereby condemning them to die.
