The Frankfurt Book Fair will again be attended by Georgian authors and publishers in 2024. This is the second consecutive year that Georgians have participated in cultural boycotts against oppressive policies. The leading publishing houses of Georgia, such as Atanuji Publishing, Palitra L, Intelekti and Sulakauri Publishing are facilitating the participation.
Georgian writers who will engage with global audiences include Iza Pezuashvili, Lasha Bugadze, and translator Natia Mikeladze-Bakhsoliani, with the Georgian stand serving as an open space for any Georgian publisher to participate.
According to the report by Sulakauri Publishing, the Georgian delegaion will once again declare its commitment to EU integration. They will also emphasize the importance of such cultural showcases in achieving this goal.
Highlights of the event include discussions on contemporary Georgian literature trends and Iva Pezuashvili’s novel ‘Bunker’.
The fair will run from 18 October to 22 October 2024.
