The unemployment rate was 28 percent and the was 712,5 GEL. 1,120,000 of us lived below the poverty level. There was no universal healthcare program. The infrastructure was disrupted. The “Georgian Dream’ was able, despite the difficult legacy left behind, to quickly turn the country in the right direction: we increased the economy of the country from 28 billion GEL up to 90 billion GEL and, by , our program says, it will reach 130 billion GEL. We increased the budget of the country from 8.5 billion GEL up to 28 billion GEL which will surpass 40 billion GEL by 2028. We reduced unemployment in half. In the last 2.5 years alone, 170,000 new jobs have been created in the nation. By 2028, another 200,000 jobs will be added. You may remember that the previous government was proud of its infrastructure . I want to remind you that only 68 km of highways had been built before 2012. After 2012, 300 km of highways will be built. The Tbilisi – Batumi highway construction will be completed by next year. Travel time from Batumi and Tbilisi is expected to be reduced to three hours.
