This in turn weakens the Kremlin’s influence, which is heavily reliant on the EU market. Several countries have expressed desire for their own resources to be used as foreign policy instruments.
The article mentions also that the old strategic points are slowly losing power after the age has passed, starting with Strait of Hormuz. As the oil age ends, these strategic points will be less susceptible to competition from regional and global powers for control and access.
