According to a decision by the Central Election Commission, seven additional polling stations in different cities will be opened, taking into consideration the number of registered voters and those in exile. According to CEC chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili polling stations will open in seven cities – New York City, Berlin, Barcelona, Rome, Athens, Thessaloniki, and Paris.
“I think it is a very important decision that one polling station will be added in each of the seven locations mentioned.
The commissions must be staffed on time to ensure the smooth running of the voting day in the locations mentioned. Interested persons have two days to apply. It is also important to note that the authorized political unions have 3 days to nominate their members for the districts mentioned”, said Kalandarishvili.
The CEC Chairman noted that 67 polling stations will be available in 53 cities in 42 countries to serve the citizens of Georgia across different states in the parliamentary elections on October 26.
