The 3rd Global Startup Fund, hosted by the University of Business and Technology in partnership with the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology and the Israel Silicon Wadi brought together angel investors from the Israel Silicon Wadi and various international foundations as well as local investors and speakers from MIT, the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Investors selected 16 startups to present their ideas for international markets and for partnership opportunities with Angel Investors.
The Global Startup Fund was the first international startup in Georgia established at BTU, with the support from Israeli Silicon Wadi Investors and Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency. In 2019, the fund awarded the startup Echolize the first major funding, in partnership with GITA. The amount was GEL 1,300,000. All BTU Startup Fund partners, startups, and investors will have access to the Martin Trust Center’s international network after joining the MIT Entrepreneurship Center by 2021. This is one of the world’s largest startup ecosystems.
TBC Startup, as a partner to the Global Startup Fund has created a new product for startups that is available to investors and companies looking to fund a start-up.
After the presentation of 16 startups that were pre-selected, the best companies in the fund were identified. These will continue to negotiate with investors from around the world.
