Local media reported that a large fire broke out at an oil depot located in Russian-occupied October 10th, at the site of another fire that had been burning for 4 days.
According to the telegram station Crimean Wind, an “instense fire” broke out at around 9 p.m. local, and was large enough to have been visible from all parts of the city.
Videos of the fire that circulate on social media show an explosion that engulfs the night , with flames billowing several dozen meters into the air.
The fire broke out at the Marine Oil Terminal, in Feodosia, which was the site of a previous ongoing oil depot fire that was caused by an Ukrainian missile strike on October 7.
Ukraine has yet to comment on the situation.
Local authorities confirmed that the incident occurred, adding that “flammable materials”, unspecified, were released at the site of an of the fires.
Igor Tkachenko said that as of October 10, 1,137 people were evacuated from the area. The Russian-installed Governor claimed that no further evacuations are being conducted after the latest fire.
